So the million dollar question is this – what ARE these seemingly miraculous practices?


#1 EARTHING

Yup… every beach-goer knows this well: placing your bare feet on soil, sand, or grass for even 5 minutes a day is extremely good for your health.

In fact, it’s the fastest way to alkalize the body.  As we stand on the ground, we electromagnetically connect with the Earth and dissipate the build-up of electrical charge in the body.

It balances our pH which has a huge impact on our blood and lymphatic systems.

There’s a reason it’s called ‘grounding’ – because contacting the ground with our bare feet literally grounds all of the anxiety and frenetic energy we build up sitting behind desks, driving, and going on our devices and restores us to a more harmonious state of well-being.

The sun is the most powerful life-giving force in nature.

Although we have to be careful to not get burnt from exposure, sunlight in the early morning (as the sun is rising), is a great way to get the healthy components of sunlight without risking a sunburn.

Sunlight is anti-bacterial and anti-viral.  It also stimulates vitamin D production in the body (hint, hint, most people in the world are vitamin D deficient!) and it also improves our mood and even strengthens our bones!

In fact, the list of benefits from getting even 10-15 minutes of sunlight a day is extensive. 

They say that the more skin exposed to sunlight, the better. 


#3 OXYGEN

Believe it or not but aging is actually correlated with less oxygen in the body.

To keep it simple, the more oxygen we have in the cells of our bodies the longer we will live and in better health.

Getting enough oxygen sounds easy, right?  because we automatically take thousands of breathes a day.

Well, that would be true.  However, many people in the modern world do not breathe deep enough.  Stress, chronic sitting, and prolonged overstimulation can tighten the muscles around our stomach and chest.  

This means our body starts to get conditioned in a way that prevents us from breathing sufficiently and decreases our oxygen intake over time.

But… there’s an easy solution!

Breathwork.

Yes, having a regular breathwork practice can actually open up our bodies and flood it with life-giving oxygen.

So there you have it!  Three simple and easy practices for healthier living that go a long way.
